Sales Engineer  - Composites

Following continued growth across a range of industries for the supply of their specialist materials, release agents and autoclaves/equipment for use in composites manufacturing, we are seeking a NEW Sales Engineer to specifically target further growth across a range of sectors including aerospace, defence and power generation sectors as well as explore other opportunities in other industries.  This role would suit an existing sales professional or an engineer experienced in the use of composites.

Working from a hybrid or office based position in England, the Sales Engineer will 'go to market' and target these sectors on a consultative, solution sales basis. Supported by your existing knowledge of these sectors, this role will work closely within these markets to develop longer-term relationship as well as deliver strategic success.

Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager and working alongside an existing commercial and product team, the role will have the following job responsibilities:

  • Target and expand strategic sales activities within the UK market, focusing on composites in industry - this will include some key account management, but is primarily targeted on new business growth
  • Promote advanced solutions tailored for aerospace, defence and power generation sectors - as well as others as encountered
  • Complete bids and quotations alongside the commercial team
  • Support negotiations for contracts, pricing strategies and terms of agreements alongside the commercial team
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including senior management, technical, R&D, and back-office departments
  • Represent the company at sector specific trade fairs and events, actively participating in marketing initiatives and growth strategies
  • Education:

Ideally to have an engineering or similar degree, or technical certificate or similar in a related technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Composites, Materials, Electrical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering).

Industry-Specific Experience:

  • Have experience in Sales and Business Development, OR, be an experienced engineer where possible with similar materials/composites awareness
  • Have a background in Key Account Management, building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients
  • Industry expertise in the specific sectors (e.g., composites, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or machinery)
  • Be focused on sales growth

 

Technical Knowledge:

  • Be able to understand and discuss the Product or Service being sold, including its technical specifications, advantages, and applications
  • Be able to translate technical features into business benefits for customers
  • Have familiarity with industry standards and regulations that apply to the product

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Multi-disciplined qualified engineer, HNC/HND or degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience

  • Excellent fault-finding skills on both electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • PLC control code understanding and development experience (Allen Bradley RS Logix is preferred)
  • SCADA understanding and development experience (Wonderware preferred)
  • Generator protection knowledge and experience

Engine Fitter required in Telford, Shropshire!!!

We are proud to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Telford and helping them to recruit an additional Engine Fitter to join their team, this is working a day shift pattern (8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday) and the role comes with an annual salary up to £30,000 per annum (DOE).

Overtime is also available and is paid at T1/2 premium when worked.

This role would be a great fit for someone who has previously worked with Car, HGV or Military Vehicle Engines either in a working capacity, or as a hobby and you have previous experience with stripping and rebuilding Engines. Similar job titles would include Engine Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Engine Strip & Re-builder, HGV Engine Fitter, or Vehicle Mechanic. 

What You Will Do:

  • Strip down and refurbish various components, breathing new life into each part.
  • Clean down parts once disassembled, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Conduct tests on components once reassembled, guaranteeing they function as intended.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, translating them into actionable tasks.
